Small pieces of chicken marinated in spices and yogurt.
Chicken "tikka" is an Indian dish made by marinating pieces of chicken in spices and yogurt, then put on skewers and baked in a "tandoor" (Indian clay oven). Using small pieces , as we do here, cuts down on the marinating time.
1/2 cup | yogurt, plain, 2% | 130 g
2 tbsp | lime juice, freshly squeezed | 1 lime
1 tsp | gingerroot, finely grated | 4 g
1 clove | garlic, minced | ||
1 tsp | curry powder | 3 g | |
1/4 tsp | cayenne pepper | 1 g
3/4 tsp | paprika | 2 g | |
1/2 tsp | salt | 2 g | |
8 | chicken thighs, boneless, skinless, cut into 2 cm cubes | 500 g
1 1/2 tbsp | olive oil | 23 mL
12 | bamboo or wooden skewers |
If the chicken pieces will be cooked using an outdoor grill, you will first need to soak the wooden skewers for about 15-30 min in warm water.

I would have given it 5* but I would prefer the flavor to be a little more intense. Maybe I didn't put enough salt. I will try and add coriander next time. My husband and I both enjoyed the chicken. It was nice and moist with a good flavor. I followed the recipe and served it with quinoa and bok choy. Great meal.
Absolutely delicious. A lovely mild flavor, cooked on a ridged pan on the stove. Hint make sure you have the fan going. LOL!
I used sour cream first time as I didn’t have yoghurt on hand. Works, too. Nice use of the boneless skinless thigh fillets from Costco.
